Team QSI is proud to announce another TEAMS-RDS release.

Support for Azure SQL Server is here. Customers requested, QSI delivered. Scripts are included with the Enterprise installer. Along with a database configuration file that helps bootstrap the configuration process.

More on the support front, is Windows Server 2022 support. Wether hosting your own physical machine, virtual machine or up in the cloud, TEAMS-RDS will run without issue on Windows Server 2022.

Guided Troubleshooting now allows users to attach files at any step of the session. By default, only JPEG images are allowed to be attached. Quick configuration change will allow more types of files.

Additionally, Guided Troubleshooting now allows users to provide feedback at any step of the session. Step feedback form can be customized in the same way that the end of session feedback form can be.

On the security side of things, some native components have been updated.

  • curl updated to version 8.4.0
  • eXpat updated to version 2.5.0
  • json-c updated to version 0.17 20230812
  • OpenSSL updated to version 1.1.1w
  • SoftwareKey ProtectionPlus updated to version 5.22.4
  • Tcl/Tk updated to version 8.6.13

On the security side of things, we updated some native components.

  • curl updated to version 7.85.0
  • eXpat updated to version 2.4.9
  • json-c updated to version 0.16 20220414
  • OpenSSL updated to version 1.1.1q

TEAMS-Designer 13.0.2 has been released

Team QSI is pleased to announce another release of the 13.0.x series in 2022. ?

In 13.0.2, you will find some epic features along with the usual bug fixes.

First off, DFT feedback now highlights the links to Transmitters and the links to Receivers. Users can also traverse the Receivers by right clicking on a Transmitter in DFT. Should help to make more sense of your model.

Next, fault trees can now be generated in batches. No more 1 tree, then another and … you get the picture. Have no fear, you will not be headed to the command line to generate the trees in batch. TEAMS-Designer comes with a GUI to select the effects and options. Requires your license to have the Advanced FMECA option.

Bugs Fixed:

  • Effect Attribute Drops from Function type upon Importing Modules
  • Transmitters and Receivers lose their associations sometimes
  • Receiver position changes after opening its properties and closing the dialog, happens when model is zoomed out
  • AND Node Port Name text box height does not adjust
  • Converting from Smart Switch to AND node drops the number of ports and port labels
  • Effect name in Effect point gets modified with underscores for spaces after fault tree generation
  • Fixed an error when opening tmsx file generated using ‘Export Model as XML file Ver.12.5.5’, in TEAMS-Designer 12.5.5
  • Fixed missing AND node port names when model is saved as 12.5.5 version
  • Fixed a crash when converting AND node to Smart Switch using the right click menu (in Fault Tree licensed TEAMS-Designer)

Hope you like the release! We’ll see you next time partner …

TEAMS-RDS 13.0.1 Released

March 18, 2022
by Kristian Balinski
Comments are off

Team QSI is proud to announce another TEAMS-RDS release in the pipeline.

Some issues with the session log reporting facility were fixed in this release. Session status contained an integer value when it should have been a string. Now we will only ever output a string value.

Online case suspends and resumes are being added to the session log report. Done to keep consistency between TEAMATE and TEAMS-RDS. To better help you capture metrics of your Field Service organizations performance.

On the security side of things, we updated two native components.

  • curl updated to version 7.82.0
    • curl did not have any vulnerabilities, but QSI is in the habit of updating dependencies when new releases are available.
  • eXpat updated to version 2.4.7
    • A few security vulnerabilities were found in eXpat 2.4.2 since the release of TEAMS-RDS 13.0.0. See eXpat’s github page for the CVEs in question.

See you next release!

13.0.0 is all about

  • facilitating TEAMS-Designer 13.0.0 latest and greatest bleeding edge features
  • improving security

All Java and native dependencies have been upgraded to the latest version. Visual C++, SoftwareKey, cURL, OpenSSL, eXpat, Tcl/Tk. Latest versions keep away the security vulnerabilities. No log4j to speak of!

Big gains on the licensing front. Upgrade has paved the way for the same licensing we use on Windows to be supported on Linux! No more license.dat email requests. Run a command line application to perform an activation with the license server. License file is created for you. Additionally the license can be deactivated so that TEAMS-RDS can be moved to another server without going through support channels!

See the third party library report for a detailed listing of those dependencies.

TEAMS-RDS 12.1.5 and 12.5.5 shipped with versions of Log4J indicted by CVE-2021-44228. CVE is 10/10. Best to upgrade as soon as possible.

TEAMS-RDS 12.1.5 and 12.5.5 mitigate CVE-2021-44228 by dropping Log4J as a dependency. TEAMS-RDS will now delegate all logging to Tomcat which utilizes the JDK’s Logging facilities.

TEAMS-RDS 12.5.5 Released

August 11, 2021
by Kristian Balinski

Qualtech Systems, Inc. is delighted to announce the release of TEAMS-RDS 12.5.5!

In this release technicians will find the ability to attach files and provide feedback at each step of the guided troubleshooting session. No longer does a technician have to bundle all their files and feedback into one ZIP file uploaded at sessions end. They can spread the uploads out and keep them within context of the step they had issue with. Additionally the step feedback form can be customized; same as the feedback form at sessions end.

Files uploaded at each step of a guided troubleshooting session don’t just end up silo-ed away for none to see. Modelers can utilize the View Feedback page to associate the uploaded files with the setup, test or module the file was uploaded to. Next time any technician performs a guided troubleshooting session, the newly associated content will be displayed.

Speaking of content during guided troubleshooting sessions, TEAMS-Designer modelers can attach WebAR Archives to a model. Once the model is exported to TEAMS-RDS, technicians will be able to view the immersive AR content through their browser. So long as WebAR is supported within the users browser.

For all of you installing on Linux, the tarball has been deprecated in favor of RPM installations. Instead of the 30 plus commands you needed to successfully install the tarball based distribution. RPM installs have been reduced to around 5 commands. Much less to go wrong. Consistent installations. Enhanced user experience. Plus you won’t have to call support as much! RPM installs exist for CentOS 7 and Amazon Linux 2. Call support to request RPMs for another platform.

Now don’t feel like you have to perform an RPM based Linux install. QSI now has Docker images that you can download, load into your container space and get TEAMS-RDS up and running within the hour! Wait? What? Seriously? Yes! Seriously!!! Customer requested. Customer approved ?

Of course we have included bug fixes we found along the way. As well as the latest set of dependencies our software is utilizing. See the third party library report for a detailed listing of those dependencies.

Hope y’all enjoy the release!
