How can I forward a model to someone else?

The best way to send a model to someone is to export it as a xml file.  Open the model and click on File -> Export Model as XML File.  The model will be saved as a compressed archieve using the tmsx extension.  An alternative approach is to compress the model’s folder using a compression utility.  Just remember to un-compress before opening with TEAMS-Designer.

Notes:

  • When saving a model to a xml file, do not rename the file or else TEAMS-Designer will not be able to open it.

Which editor should I use to view/modify the exported XML file? When I exported models in 2012, I was able to open them with Notepad++. Sometime in 2013 I upgraded to TEAMS-Designer 12.0.2, and I can no longer view the exported XML file in Notepad++. Do you have a recommended XML viewer/editor?

      Hi Becky,

In the latest version of TEAMS Designer we have exported the model into a compressed archive. In order to access the xml file, use an archive compression program such as winzip or 7-zip to open the archive. Inside the archive you will find the TEAMS Designer xml model which can be opened with Notepad++.
