To map a function in a module:

  1. Open the module’s properties panel.
  2. Select the Functions tab.
  3. Click on the Mapped Functions button.
  4. First select the destination function on the list to the right.

How do I perform an analysis on a model using only desired modules?

The System Modes and Technologies tab in the analysis options dialog allows users to filter out modules by technologies.  The analysis can either include or exclude the modules containing the technologies selected in the list.  To add a technology to a module, open its properties panel and select the Advanced tab.

Notes

  • If you are adding a technology to a module with hierarchy, you will be prompted to add the technology to all of its sub-modules.
  • When adding a technology to a sub-module, the technology will also be added to all of its parent modules.

How do I perform an analysis of a model using only desired tests?

Under the Basic tab in the analysis options dialog, users can filter tests by several ways:

  • Test Labels
  • Test Levels
  • Test Methods
  • User Roles
  • Resources

Test Labels, Test Levels, Test Methods and User Roles

To edit any of these attributes, select the Properties tab in the test-point properties dialog for a test.  For example, if you wish to use a specific sub-set of tests that measure pressure readings, just apply a test label such as “Pressure” to all of them and select the test label in the analysis options dialog.

Resources

To edit the resources of a test, select the Setups and Resources tab in the test-point properties dialog.  The test resource properties are located in the bottom on the property page.  Just like the other test attributes, you can assign test’s resources and filter them using the resource filter option in the analysis options dialog.

Notes

  • You may only filter out tests by either test labels or test levels, but not both during an analysis.
  • You may include unlabeled tests by selecting the option underneath the list of test labels.
  • If a test contains at least one of the labels selected, it is included in the analysis.
  • All the resources of a test must be selected in order for the test to be included in the analysis.

How do I edit the outcomes of a test?

Every test has at least two outcomes.  A pass outcome and one or more fail outcomes.  To edit the outcomes of a test, open the properties panel for the test and click on the Functions tab.  The outcomes for the selected test are listed in the drop-down list next to the Outcome Name label.  To edit the list of outcomes click on the Edit button next to the drop-down list.

In the Test Outcomes dialog, you can add, remove and edit the outcomes defined for a test.  You can use the arrows to move the outcomes up and down in the list.  Remember, the first outcome in the list is always the pass outcome and the rest are fail outcomes.

Why am I unable to edit my model?

There are few reasons you may not be able to edit your model:

  • The model is in a old format and needs to be updated.  To update the model, go to Tools from the main menu and select Update Model to Latest Format.
  • The model was opened as a read-only xml model.  To edit the model, go to File in the main menu and select Save Model As.  After saving the model, you shoul be able to edit it.
  • TEAMS-Designer is in “View Hierarchy” mode, just click on the “Edit” icon in the main toolbar to edit the model.
  • You may be inside a reference library module.   Reference library modules are only read-only and cannot be edited.  If you wish to edit a library module, open and edit the TEAMS-Designer model containing the referenced library module.  Once you have completed editing the model, export it to the database.  Open the model containing the referenced library model and update it by selecting  Check for Model Updates from the Tools sub-menu.

Is it possible to edit the properties of multiple tests or modules without having to open the properties of each module or test?

TEAMS-Designer has a batch editor that allows you to view and edit multiple objects at the same time.  You may access the batch editor by either selecting “Edit -> Edit Properties -> [Modules,  Tests, Test Setups, Resources ]” from the main menu or clicking on the batch editor icon in the main toolbar.

How do I clear my model of unwanted functions, technologies, resources and setups?

As you develop a model, sometimes objects get created and discarded during the process.  These objects are kept in the model in case the user decides to use them at a later point.  When you want to clear all the unwanted objects, just go to “Tools -> Clean Up Model”.  TEAMS-Designer will go through the model and create a list of unused objects.  You will be prompted with a dialog listing all the unused objects, if you wish to keep any of the objects just de-select them before proceeding.
