- About Us
Different Development and Production versions of TEAMS-RDS allow different number of concurrent sessions. Each Guided Troubleshooting or Telediagnosis connection counts as one session. The restrictions are enforced by the licensing module based on the product key as the software for all configurations of TEAMS-RDS are otherwise identical.
Please note that TEAMATE, being a portable guided troubleshooting solution meant to be deployed on laptops is for non-networked sessions and should not be used as server.
QSI’s Master Agreement for Software License and Support can be downloaded by clicking on this link here. The link is also accessible from the footer or every page in the QSI website.
Customer deactivation and reactivation of licenses are supported for Windows versions of software for TEAMS version 12.1.3 (released April 2014) and later, provided the original software was activated online. Simply deactivate the license from the pull down menu in the original computer, uninstall the software, and install and reactivate the original license on the new computer.
All others need to contact QSI support and pay a per-incident support fee ($500 for up to 5 licenses). Specifically, if your license was activated over phone or if you software is older than 12.1.3, you need to obtain a deactivation code (to free up the license from the old computer), and a new license code for the new computer.
In addition, if the original computer is no longer available for deactivation, you must submit a formal request on a company letterhead signed by an officer of the company for issue of a new license without the necessary deactivation. (See My hard drive crashed or I re-installed my OS. How can I get a new license? for more information.)
We strongly encourage our customers to maintain current software support (ME&S), as this covers such license transfers and provides updates and upgrades to newer versions of the software.
Before transferring a license from one computer to another, you must de-activate the license on the current computer. Please note that license deactivation is ONLY supported for node-locked licenses that were originally activated over the internet, and for software version 12.1.3 and later.
Follow the procedure below to de-activate TEAMS-Designer and TEAMATE, Each de-activation will free up one license which will be available to you or other users.
You have successfully freed a license that may now be activated on another computer.
Sorry about your hard disk crash or for being forced to reinstall the OS by circumstances. If it is the latter, and if you still have the chance to deactivate please do so by following the “How may I transfer my license from one computer to another one?“.
Otherwise, and if your hard disk crashed and you did not get a chance to deactivate the old license, we need a letter from your company on its letterhead, with the details of the license for the crashed hard disk, with assurance that this license will not be put into service, and requesting a new license. The details to be included are:
QSI support team will then have to manually deactivate the old license and free up an activation. There may be a fee associated with this service if you do not have a current support contract (ME&S).
When QSI sends you your software license information, it also includes the expiration date of the license. The expiration date information is also available within our software products.
For TEAMS-Designer and TEAMATE, go to “Help -> About <product-name>…” to view support and licensing information. The licensing information is displayed on the bottom-left corner of the dialog.
In TEAMS-RDS, administrators may check the expiration date by clicking on the “Powered by RDS” link located on the bottom-left of the TEAMS-RDS page. Select the license information tab to view the expiration date of your license.
The easiest way to activate your copy of TEAMS software is via the internet. If the computer does not have internet access, you may also activate the software license by e-mail using another computer. You will need a license id and password to activate your software, if you need a license and password please contact email@example.com.
