Qualtech Systems, Inc. (QSI) Part of Honeywell Space Systems Team Awarded 2nd Generation Reusable Launch Vehicle (RLV) Contract from NASA Marshall Space Flight Center
Wethersfield, CT. August 2001...Qualtech Systems, Inc. (QSI) is key member of a Honeywell Space Systems team that has been awarded a contract for NASA’s 2nd Generation RLV Risk Reduction program under Technical Area 5, Integrated Vehicle Health Management (IVHM). QSI is part of a Honeywell Space Systems, Glendale, AZ team that also includes Honeywell Labs, Interface Control Systems (ICS), and NASA Ames. In the first phase of the program, QSI will be providing advanced Integrated Diagnostics engineering support and will also help the Honeywell team to leverage and integrate the QSI TEAMS™ tool set into a comprehensive IVHM Architecture for this risk reduction program. The effort will address analysis and optimization, health management architectures, real time, model based reasoning, integration of diagnostic reasoners, and approaches to low risk validation and verification of these leading edge IVHM designs.
For this project, Qualtech will provide its commercially available "TEAMS™" (Testability Engineering and Maintenance System) tool set which provides state of the art "failure/effects modeling", diagnostic analysis/optimization, model based embedded run-time diagnostics and intelligent interactive reasoners. The model created in the TEAMS testability analysis tool can be exported to the TEAMS-RT™ module for embedding in the IVHM computer architecture. The QSI technology offers a very unique and innovative approach to complement the development of Integrated Vehicle Health Management (IVHM) systems. With this approach, the work completed during testability design (modeling, analysis, and optimization) can be DIRECTLY embedded into the IVHM system on the vehicle and in the support system, providing a "common model" approach to IVHM design and deployment.
QSI’s modeling approach tightly couples the testability analysis with the run-time diagnostic performance...something testability engineers have desired for years. Honeywell will also leverage QSI’s work on recent NASA research programs for monitoring of large scale, complex systems over distributed networks.
Qualtech Systems, Inc. is a leading provider of advanced Diagnostics/Testability, Reliability and Maintenance software, as well as engineering project and research services. QSI provides its software and research services to a wide range of customers including Honeywell, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, NASA, Army Research Office, and the Naval Surface Warfare Center.
